California's Baker Beach has been named the best nude beach in the United States, according to new research from travel experts at Hoppa. The San Francisco beach, offering views of the Golden Gate Bridge, averaged over 1.1 million Google searches in the past year and holds a 4.5 rating on Tripadvisor.
Florida's Haulover Beach secured the second position with 866,000 searches and a 4.5 Tripadvisor rating, establishing itself as a well-known hotspot for sunbathers worldwide. Chris Harrington, managing director of Hoppa, commented that visiting a clothing-optional beach "isn’t just about stripping off. It’s about the sense of liberation and freedom that comes with the experience."
Black's Beach in San Diego, California, ranked third with 817,000 searches and a 4.4 rating, noted for its dramatic cliffs and coastline popular with nudists.
Hawaii also featured prominently, with Secret Beach in Kauai ranking fourth (474,400 searches, 4.6 rating) and Maui's Red Sand Beach placing seventh (259,800 searches, 4.6 rating). Kehena Beach in Hawaii's Puna District rounded out the state's representation at ninth place with 141,800 views and a 4.3 rating.
Florida's Playalinda Beach, located within the Canaveral National Seashore near Titusville, came in fifth with 463,700 searches and a 4.5 Tripadvisor rating. This beach is known for its undeveloped shoreline and is a popular site for viewing rocket launches from the nearby Kennedy Space Center.
New Jersey's Gunnison Beach on the Sandy Hook peninsula earned sixth place with 273,600 searches. Oregon's Rooster Rock State Park in Corbett took the eighth spot with 189,900 searches.
Florida's Blind Creek Beach on Hutchinson Island, a designated clothing-optional area within a coastal preserve, entered the list at 10th place with 134,300 searches.
Harrington noted that nude beaches, often associated with the 1970s naturist movement, continue to appeal to travelers seeking new experiences. The research analyzed Google search volume and Tripadvisor ratings to compile the list of the top 10 clothing-optional beaches for the summer season.
