Amber Eggers, a reality television personality best known for her appearances on We TV's "Love After Lockup," has died at the age of 41. Her mother, Monica Eggers, confirmed to TMZ that her daughter passed away on Thursday after being hospitalized in Atlanta.
Monica Eggers stated that Amber had been admitted to the hospital several days prior after feeling unwell. The cause of death was acute liver failure, according to her mother. Doctors were unable to sustain her heart function, leading to her death.
Friends of Eggers also confirmed her passing on social media, with one individual writing on Instagram that "Amber Eggers has lost her fight today and passed away." The friend added, "The doctors did everything they could, but in the end, her body just couldn’t keep fighting." Another friend's tribute noted, "She will be missed more than we can probably put into words."
In May 2025, Eggers' sister, Erin, launched a GoFundMe campaign after Amber was hospitalized with severe pneumonia and a bacterial infection in her bloodstream. At that time, she was on a ventilator and placed on an ECMO machine, an advanced life-support system. Erin Eggers described her sister as "one of the kindest and most big-hearted people you could ever meet." Following her critical condition, Amber was moved out of the intensive care unit and began physical therapy.
Eggers gained recognition on "Love After Lockup" during its second season in 2019. Her storyline focused on her relationship with Vincent Gonzalez, whom she met while serving a four-year prison sentence for drug trafficking. The couple became engaged on the show but later separated after her release from prison. Eggers also made subsequent appearances on "Love After Lockup" and its spinoff, "Life After Lockup."
