Amber Eggers, a cast member of the reality television series "Love After Lockup," has died at the age of 41. Her mother, Monica Eggers, confirmed her passing to TMZ, stating that Amber died Thursday night in an Atlanta hospital following several days of treatment.

Monica Eggers explained that doctors were unable to sustain her daughter's heart function, and the cause of death was acute liver failure. According to the Mayo Clinic, acute liver failure is a rapid loss of liver function that can occur in individuals without pre-existing liver disease, often caused by viruses or medications such as acetaminophen.

Eggers was known for her appearance in the second season of "Love After Lockup," which premiered in 2019. On the show, she was engaged to Vincent Gonzalez, whom she dated while incarcerated. Their relationship continued after her release from prison, but they ultimately separated, a storyline documented on the series.

"Love After Lockup," which airs on WE tv, follows couples who meet their partners for the first time after their release from incarceration. The show has completed its seventh season and has spawned spin-offs like "Life After Lockup" and "Love During Lockup." Eggers also made cameo appearances on these spin-off series with her former cellmate Michelle "Puppy" Deaton.

Eggers had a history of legal issues, serving four years in prison for drug trafficking. Following her release, she was arrested in December 2024 on charges including driving under the influence, possession of an open alcohol container, and failure to maintain a lane, among other traffic violations.

She had also experienced other health concerns in recent years. In July, Eggers revealed on social media that she had been released from intensive care after suffering what she described as a "mini-stroke." In the spring of 2025, she was hospitalized with pneumonia that progressed to sepsis and organ failure, requiring life support, but she had since recovered from that illness.
