Amber Davies is set to reprise her role as Elle Woods in a West End production of Legally Blonde The Musical. The limited engagement will run for nine weeks at London's Coliseum, from March 22 to May 22 of next year.
Davies, 29, is currently touring the UK and Ireland in the same production alongside her understudy, Hannah Lowther. The musical has recently been the subject of rumors claiming a backstage rivalry between the two actresses, claims that both have vehemently denied.
In a social media post announcing the West End run, Davies wrote, "LONDON, how’s this for a personal essay?! #LegallyBlondeTheMusical is taking over @LondonColiseum for 9 WEEKS ONLY from March 2027, starring Amber Davies as Elle Woods!" Lowther shared the announcement, adding "Iconic @amb_d!!!" and commenting "THERE SHE IS."
Davies previously addressed the feud rumors earlier this year, stating, "Just to clear things up, I’m not leaving Legally, I’m not taking a break & there is no feud… I’m simply just finishing off a set of antibiotics for a chest infection that’s been lingering for over a month... Sickness happens, we are human. And disappointed to see a narrative ran on women who work their ASSES OFF. I will be back on stage as soon as I possibly can. I love my @legallyblondeshow company so much and very grateful to have such a supportive team especially @hannahlowther."
Lowther separately commented on the situation, stating, "One day I hope that we will be able to live in a world where women aren't pit against each other and compared ALL the time... A world where we can all succeed, thrive or just simply exist without people trying to tear us down."
Davies also recently encountered an issue with a theatregoer filming a performance in Ireland. She shared her concerns on social media, urging audiences not to film during shows. "This is your daily reminder not to film at the theatre," she posted. "Unfortunately tonight at the Bord Gáis we've got a beautiful audience, but there's just one woman in the front row filming the entirety of Act One has had us all distracted. It ruined the morale of our wonderful eighth show on a Saturday night from selfish actions."
She added that she reported the individual to staff and requested they be removed. "I'm the type of person, I will count how many seats away you are from what door and you will be told and asked to leave," Davies stated. "So yeah guys, don't film. Let's just enjoy the two and a half hours together, we don't need to film everything."
