Amazon Reportedly Set to Sponsor Prince Harry's Invictus Games Birmingham 2027

Amazon is reportedly nearing a substantial sponsorship deal to support Prince Harry's Invictus Games Birmingham 2027, according to reports. This potential partnership could see the e-commerce and streaming giant's Prime Video platform become a key backer of the event.
The Invictus Games Birmingham 2027, scheduled to take place from July 10 to July 17, aims to host 550 service personnel and veterans from 25 nations. These individuals are recognized for their resilience as they compete in 12 adaptive sports, supporting their recovery journeys.
The event faces a reported need for a £20 million financial injection to cover its operational costs. The potential Amazon deal comes after aircraft manufacturer Boeing, a previous major sponsor, did not renew its support following the last games.
Sources suggest that Amazon's interest stems from its existing commitment to supporting veterans through various programs, including employment initiatives. The involvement of Amazon, a major competitor to Netflix, is also seen as significant given Netflix's previous production of lifestyle shows featuring Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
An Invictus Games Birmingham 2027 spokesperson confirmed that the organization is actively developing partnerships. "We've already announced some great partners and look forward to welcoming more who share our ambition for the Games in the months ahead," the spokesperson stated. The games are supported through a combination of UK Government underwriting, commercial partnerships, charitable contributions, and in-kind support.
Prince Harry founded the Invictus Games in 2014, establishing it as a platform for wounded, injured, and sick military personnel and veterans to showcase their determination and inspire others through sport. The Invictus Games Foundation oversees the delivery of the global event, while Invictus Games Birmingham 2027 is the independent UK charity established to manage the 2027 games in Birmingham.
