Amazon Dresser Priced at $299 Praised for Rivalling High-End Designs
A consumer writer found the LYNSOM dresser to be a durable and stylish option comparable to more expensive brands like West Elm.
A dresser purchased for $299 from Amazon has garnered praise for its design and durability, with one writer noting its resemblance to pieces from higher-end furniture retailers like West Elm. The LYNSOM 55″ Wide Fluted Dresser, available on Amazon, was initially approached with skepticism by the reviewer, who has had negative experiences with build-it-yourself furniture in the past.
Despite reservations about assembly, the dresser's appearance, characterized by a sturdy and modern aesthetic, caught the reviewer's attention. Online reviews also contributed to the decision, with shoppers describing the item as "beautiful and durable" and a "great quality piece."
Upon assembly, which required assistance and some adjustment for the doors, the dresser proved to be visually appealing and functional. Its dimensions and storage capacity, featuring four drawers and four doors, were highlighted as particularly suitable for apartment living, where space is often at a premium. The design includes curved edges, rounded feet, and gold hardware, contributing to an elevated look. The ease with which the storage can conceal clutter before guests arrive was also noted as a significant advantage.
The reviewer, Miska Salemann, a commerce writer for the New York Post, typically avoids flat-pack furniture but found the Amazon dresser to be a worthwhile gamble due to its sub-$300 price point. The piece is described as offering a balance between style and storage, with details like curved edges being a kid-friendly feature and the overall aesthetic prompting friends to suggest it was "giving West Elm."
The dresser is identified as the OKD 60″ Fluted Storage Buffet Sideboard Cabinet with Drawers, in a natural oak finish. Its functionality in small spaces and its price were cited as its main selling points. Salemann's professional background includes covering lifestyle and consumer topics, and she has tested various wellness products and fitness equipment for her reporting.
