Federal investigators are focusing on whether an Amazon cargo jet landed too late to stop safely when it crashed at Miami International Airport on Sunday afternoon, resulting in five fatalities. Three other individuals sustained critical injuries, and two more were hospitalized with less severe injuries.

The Boeing 767, arriving from San Juan, Puerto Rico, was observed on landing video to be in the air far down the runway before touching down around 2 p.m. Aviation experts are working to determine precisely where the aircraft landed and the reasons behind the pilots' decision to abandon the landing.

The plane ultimately overran the runway and crashed across a road, impacting a warehouse and nearby businesses. The investigation continues to determine the exact cause of the crash.
