Amanda Seyfried and her husband, Thomas Sadoski, have announced their separation after nine years of marriage. The couple, who share two children, confirmed the split in a joint statement to PEOPLE on Tuesday.
"We have been separated for a while, and it's proven to be the right move for us and our family unit. We've got each other forever—and it's GOOD," Seyfried and Sadoski said in their statement.
Seyfried, 40, and Sadoski, 50, first met in 2015 while working together on the off-Broadway play The Way We Get By. They married in a private ceremony in California in March 2017, shortly before the birth of their daughter, Nina, who is now nine years old. Their son, Thomas, is five.
The actress, known for her roles in "Mamma Mia!" and "Mean Girls," and the actor, recognized for his work in "The Newsroom" and "Life in Pieces," have maintained a relatively private personal life despite their public careers.
