Amanda Holden Vacations in Abu Dhabi Amid UK Storm
The British TV personality shared photos of her beach getaway while Storm Austen caused disruptions in the UK.
Amanda Holden, 55, showcased her figure in a yellow bikini while vacationing in Abu Dhabi on Friday. She posted images on social media, revealing she was on a couple's trip with her husband, Chris Hughes, 54.
Holden joked about the timing of her trip, stating, "Apparently Britain has gone with the wind!! I’ve gone with the sunshine. Love Abu Dhabi, Just me and Chris!"
Her holiday coincided with Storm Austen, which brought 80 mph gusts and heavy rain to the UK, leading to school closures, power outages, and travel cancellations. The storm's most significant impact was felt in the South West of England, particularly Cornwall, where over 16,000 homes lost power. The highest recorded wind speeds were 76 mph on the Isles of Scilly and Guernsey. Storm Austen was expected to move into the North Sea by Friday evening, with another system, Storm Boelo, arriving on Saturday.
In other news, reports from last month indicated that Holden is planning to expand her business ventures. She has reportedly filed trademark applications for her name, potentially for future use in beauty products, cosmetics, and perfumes. This move follows the success of wellness brands launched by other celebrities, such as Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop and Holly Willoughby's Wylde Moon.
