Amal Clooney has shared that her life and career were simpler before her marriage to actor George Clooney. The human rights attorney stated that it was "easier when I could decide what kind of exposure I got," describing the shift as a "new phenomenon to navigate."

Speaking at a Cartier Dialogues event in Bangkok, Clooney, 48, noted that she previously maintained a distinct separation between her work life and personal life. "It was a weird phenomenon," she said, per the Daily Mail. "I used to have my work life and my personal life, and they could look quite different, and I was able to not have them mix… and then I got married and that changed quite a lot."

She recalled being conscious of how her public image might affect her professional standing, stating, "At first I was kind of conscious of that one-dimensional view where I felt like, well, I can’t be seen wearing this dress or doing this because I’m in front of a judge on Monday and I don’t want the judge to… but you know it just doesn’t matter as much as living your life."

However, Clooney emphasized that she would not allow these concerns to hinder important aspects of her family life or relationships. "Ultimately if you’re good at what you do, that is going to shine through or not," she added.

Amal and George Clooney married in Italy in 2014. They have since welcomed twins Ella and Alexander, who are now nine years old. George Clooney has spoken about their relationship, telling the Los Angeles Times in January that he is "much more secure" and less inclined to win arguments now compared to his younger years.

Amal Clooney has also expressed gratitude for her husband's support of her demanding career. In a profile for Glamour magazine last year, she said, "I have a partner in life who is so supportive of what I do. So I don’t feel like I have to apologize for it or rein it in."
