Amal Clooney captivated onlookers in a slinky white dress during a romantic date night in Lake Como, Italy, earlier this month. She attended an event at Villa Passalacqua with her husband, actor George Clooney, just weeks after they were forced to evacuate their home in the South of France due to encroaching wildfires.
The couple, who share nine-year-old twins Ella and Alexander, have a tradition of spending their summers in Italy. On this occasion, both George and Amal complemented each other's attire, opting for ivory ensembles. George wore a short-sleeved shirt with trousers and loafers, while Amal donned a floor-grazing slip dress, accented with chandelier earrings, bangles, and strappy silver heels. She carried a small bouquet of flowers as they disembarked from a boat.
In late July, the Clooneys had to flee their residence in Brignoles, located in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region of France. Wildfires across southern France, as well as in Greece, Italy, and Spain, threatened their home. George Clooney confirmed the evacuation in a letter to the mayor of Brignoles, Didier Brémond, with his representative stating that the actor vowed to support the town. "As we evacuate Brignoles we want to emphasize two things, first we hope you and the people of our city are safe and second that Amal and I are committed to making sure that whatever happens to our village, we are part of this community and we’ll be part of making it whole," Clooney wrote in the letter. "We love Brignoles and our friends who live there."
Earlier in May, Amal Clooney celebrated her husband's 65th birthday with a surprise party in St. Tropez. The celebration included friends of George posing as waiters to surprise him.
