Alyssa Farah Griffin Shares Positive Update on Son's Health After Emergency Surgery

Alyssa Farah Griffin, co-host of The View, has shared a heartening update on her seven-month-old son, Justin Patrick Griffin Jr., who recently underwent emergency surgery and spent time in the intensive care unit.

Griffin, 37, initially disclosed that her son required surgery after a health emergency when he was two months old. While the specific nature of the surgery has not been publicly detailed, she confirmed in a recent interview that her son is now doing "amazing."

"He’s doing amazing," Farah Griffin told People magazine. "We’re in a helmet for a year, which honestly, as a first-time mom, I kind of appreciate. I’m like, it’s just another safety mechanism."

She expressed admiration for her son's rapid recovery, noting his resilience. "Babies are so resilient. They’re miracles," Farah Griffin said. "He will never know the surgery he had. He’ll never feel anything from it. He’s great. He’s so sharp. He’s just perfect."

Farah Griffin and her husband, Justin Griffin, welcomed their son in February 2026. When she first spoke about the surgery in May, she became emotional, describing it as a "major operation" that necessitated an ICU stay over a weekend. She noted that the procedure went "beyond well" and that doctors reported he was recovering better than anticipated and hitting all developmental milestones.

Recalling a moment shortly after the surgery, Farah Griffin described seeing her son smile at her when she entered his room in the early morning. "He caught my eyes because he was awake and he giggled, and I was like, 'It's the happiest moment of my life. He's OK, he recognizes mama,'" she said.

Farah Griffin had previously been open about her in vitro fertilization (IVF) journey. She returned to The View in April 2026, two months after giving birth.
