Hamish Tait, 35, faces accusations of 329 offenses against up to 150 children, spanning from 2009 to 2025 at 62 childcare centers primarily in northwest Sydney, Australia. Should the charges be upheld, he would be considered the country's most prolific child sex offender.

Among the charges are 134 related to the production of child abuse material, 12 counts of intentionally sexually touching a child under 10, and 44 aggravated counts of filming individuals without consent in private situations. Authorities recently released images of clothing items, including a dinosaur-patterned puffer vest, blue shorts, and a two-tone t-shirt, in an effort to identify additional victims.

An email sent in late 2019 by Tait to parents at Sydney's Fit Kidz Dural centre promoted his "Wild Earthlings" business. In the email, he offered a 10% discount for his school holiday camps, describing them as an opportunity for children to "get out in the bush, climb trees, get messy and learn the natural way." He added, "It's the least I can do for families and children who have all created such wonderful relationships in the time I have been part of their lives. I would absolutely love to see the children before they head off to school."

Tait stated the holiday program was developed in response to parents' requests for their older children, who had outgrown his weekly sessions for infants and toddlers, to participate. These programs, which were open to children aged five to 12, were priced at $75 per child. The "Wild Earthlings" website described the holiday activities as "goal-oriented" and included elements like using tools, climbing trees, bush walking, and playing with water and clay, aiming to provide children with a "magical experience that shapes and guides who they are."

Australian Federal Police arrested Tait last July. He had sought to keep his identity confidential for safety reasons, but a judge recently lifted a temporary non-publication order. Police seized over two million files from Tait's devices, allegedly containing child abuse images, and approximately 500,000 unique images of 122 alleged victims. Detectives have identified 136 alleged victims and are working to identify an additional 22.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the LCP on 02 9765 1000. AFP Detective Acting Inspector Emmanuel Tsardoulias acknowledged the difficult nature of the news and stated the investigation will continue. Parents who believe their child may have had contact with Tait are encouraged to contact the AFP.

Tait is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
