Social media influencer Alix Earle, 25, disclosed that intense online negativity recently led to a panic attack and significant emotional distress, causing her to take a break from posting content. In a TikTok video update, Earle shared that while she has previously navigated criticism, recent comments have felt overwhelmingly negative and have impacted her mental well-being.

Earle recounted an incident last week where she experienced a panic attack on a plane, describing symptoms of difficulty breathing and a racing heart. She also admitted to breaking down in tears while doing her makeup, indicating the toll the constant scrutiny has taken.

"I know I haven't posted anything on here the past few days... or at least speaking like I normally do," Earle stated in the video. "Honestly, I just sort of took some time for myself and tried to not be online as much, because I was getting into just not the best place."

The founder of Reale Actives expressed that the pervasive nature of online comments – discussing her appearance, activities, and statements – has led to overthinking. She noted a perceived double standard where harsh criticism is directed at her online, but similar remarks from her would be highly problematic.

Earle, who was recently linked to Tom Brady, has been attempting to recover by spending time in Miami with friends and focusing on work distractions. She stated, "But we are feeling much better, still protecting our peace, but I'm still going to bring you guys along, for those who care."

This personal health update follows Earle's recent clarification of her political views in a TIME cover story. For years, she has faced accusations of supporting "MAGA." Earle told TIME that she has addressed these rumors, stating, "My senior year of college I was like, 'I am not a Trump supporter.' I don't personally support him. I get a lot of questions about that online still."

Speculation about her political alignment has persisted, partly due to her inclusion in a list by The Cut highlighting influencers who did not publicly comment on election day during the 2024 presidential elections. Earle was also photographed with Ivanka Trump in December 2023. However, she has now explicitly stated her non-support for Donald Trump.
