Alison Hammond Suffered "Massive Panic Attack" After Health Scare on Live TV

Presenter Alison Hammond has returned home after being hospitalized for a health scare that occurred live on the television show "This Morning." Hammond, 51, revealed in an Instagram video that after undergoing medical checks, she learned the incident was a "massive panic attack." She had been suffering from palpitations approximately an hour into the program while discussing pet health with co-presenter Dermot O'Leary and a television veterinarian.

Hammond described the experience as feeling very real and acknowledged that she needs to learn more about panic attacks. She expressed gratitude to the National Health Service (NHS) staff for their care and the "This Morning" team for their support. "I'm home, I'm safe, and I'm feeling so much better," she stated, adding that she is "taking stock and resting" before her return to television.

During the live broadcast, viewers saw Hammond clutch her chest before being taken off set. O'Leary later informed the audience that she was feeling unwell and would not be returning for the remainder of the show. A source indicated that Hammond walked into the ambulance after leaving the studio.

This incident comes as Hammond has been balancing her "This Morning" commitments with promoting the return of "The Great British Bake Off," on which she co-presents alongside Noel Fielding. She has previously been open about her health journey, including significant weight loss and adopting a healthier lifestyle after being diagnosed as pre-diabetic. Her efforts have included working with a personal trainer, engaging in activities like Reformer Pilates and boxing, and making dietary changes.
