Alison Hammond Jests About Relationship Dealbreakers on Air
The TV presenter humorously stated she would end her relationship if her boyfriend engaged in 'stream-cheating'.
Alison Hammond, 51, has playfully declared that she would expel her Russian masseuse boyfriend from their home if she discovered him "stream-cheating." The term, which describes a partner secretly watching ahead in a shared television series, was a topic of discussion during a segment on Heart Radio.
Hammond, along with Great British Bake Off judges Paul Hollywood and Nigella Lawson, participated in a game called "Rate it or Slate it." When asked about their stance on stream-cheating in relationships, Hammond responded, "If my partner did that, he's gone. You're out of there. Sorry. If we are watching Love Island, we need to watch it together at the same time. It's not fair."
Both Hollywood and Lawson agreed with Hammond's sentiment. Hammond has been in a relationship with David, 29, for three years, having met him when he provided her with a massage. She recently shared that their meeting was "so random how we met - but it was meant to be!" Hammond described David as "lovely" and stated, "We are obsessed with each other. He loves me. If you met him, he has such a calming nature which is what I need. He is not like me in any way. It's grounding."
Hammond, who is also a mother to 21-year-old son Aidan, previously commented on David's presence in her life, saying, "He just has the most beautiful energy and everyone feels it when they're in his presence. I am so grateful that he chooses to spend his life with me." She added that they live together and are content with their current arrangement, noting that a ring is not necessary to signify their love, though she would not refuse a marriage proposal.
During the radio appearance, viewers also noted Nigella Lawson's fresh dynamic as a judge on Great British Bake Off. She has been praised for her willingness to disagree with veteran judge Paul Hollywood and for her descriptive language when discussing food. Fans have also lauded her "anti-diet" approach to food commentary. On social media platform X, one viewer observed, "The biggest triumph of Nigella on Bake Off is how she brings what genuinely feels like a real LOVE of every bite she takes." Others echoed this sentiment, praising her positive and joyful engagement with the food.
Lawson has also been commended for challenging the use of terms like "indulgent and naughty" when describing food, advocating instead for enjoying life's pleasures. One fan on Reddit appreciated her perspective, stating, "I love that she doesn’t talk about guilt. I hate hearing someone try something and immediately it’s about calories or our hips or shame." Lawson herself has expressed having "many reservations" about joining Bake Off, initially feeling she had to clarify that she is a home baker, not a technical one.
