Alison Hammond has offered a rare glimpse into her relationship with her boyfriend, massage therapist and model David Putman. The 51-year-old TV personality shared that she and Putman, 29, are deeply affectionate, describing themselves as "obsessed with each other."
The couple met three years ago when Putman gave Hammond a massage, and they have since maintained a relatively private romance. "It was so random how we met - but it was meant to be! I absolutely adore him, he is lovely," Hammond told The Mirror. She highlighted Putman's "calming nature" as a grounding influence in her life, noting, "He is not like me in any way. It's grounding."
Hammond, who is mother to 21-year-old son Aidan, previously described Putman as having "the most beautiful energy" that is palpable to those around him. She expressed gratitude that he "chooses to spend his life with me." The couple lives together, and Hammond stated that she does not require a ring to signify their love, though she indicated she would accept a marriage proposal if one were made.
This discussion of her personal life follows a recent on-air incident where Hammond was taken off set during an episode of "This Morning" while clutching her chest. She later revealed she had experienced a "massive panic attack," feeling as though she was having a heart attack. The experience was described as "very scary."
Hammond also addressed remarks made by Katie Hopkins, who posted a video mocking the incident and Hammond's reaction. Hopkins suggested Hammond should "get a grip" and questioned the amount of attention given to her health scare, contrasting it with individuals facing more severe chronic illnesses or terminal diagnoses. Hopkins also commented on Hammond's changing appearance and weight.
Hammond responded to Hopkins' comments, writing, "I'm still a Chumba womba babs!! I thought it was a heart attack it was very scary... I wouldn't wish it on anyone, even you cos you are beautiful on inside and out."
