Television personality Alison Hammond has publicly addressed the 22-year age difference between herself and her boyfriend, David Puttnam. Hammond, 51, stated that the relationship is a private matter and "nothing to do with anyone else," responding to concerns about the age-gap relationships often generate.
Hammond, who has been dating the Russian model and massage therapist Puttnam, 28, since 2023, described their relationship as "easy" and a daily choice. She told The Mirror that marriage is not on the horizon for the couple, as they are both content with their current arrangement.
"We don't need to! We're both cool," Hammond stated regarding wedding plans. She shared that Puttnam "just sees me for who I am," contributing to the ease and connection in their relationship.
In addition to discussing her personal life, Hammond has also spoken about her significant health and weight loss journey. She revealed that she has lost weight by addressing a "childish mentality to food" and has adopted a healthier lifestyle after being warned she was pre-diabetic. At her heaviest, the This Morning presenter weighed 30 stone.
Hammond began her transformation five years ago with a personal trainer and a stricter diet. She has since incorporated Reformer Pilates and boxing into her fitness routine, often sharing her progress on social media. She noted that a pre-diabetes diagnosis, which concerned her due to her mother's Type 2 diabetes, was a significant motivator for her to "be an adult about this."
While Hammond has embraced new fitness methods like Reformer Pilates, which she finds beneficial for flexibility, she has expressed reservations about other wellness trends, such as cold plunge pools, which she tried briefly and found unpleasant.
