Alexia Umansky Reveals Traumatic Assault by Trusted Friend
Kyle Richards' daughter shares her story for the first time on 'Special Forces: World's Toughest Test'.
Alexia Umansky, daughter of reality television star Kyle Richards, has revealed a deeply personal and traumatic experience on the latest episode of "Special Forces: World's Toughest Test." Seven years ago, Umansky disclosed that she was "taken advantage of" by a trusted friend following a night of drinking.
During an emotional segment on the Fox series, the 30-year-old recounted the incident, stating she was put to bed after consuming too much alcohol. "I woke up and I could tell something had happened," Umansky shared. "I didn't even have the power or consciousness to say no. I felt completely objectified. And I had a lot of pain and anger."
Umansky explained that she chose to suppress the memory for a year, deciding that happiness was a choice. However, she admitted the experience still affects her. She revealed that her family, including her mother Kyle Richards and father Mauricio Umansky, were unaware of the assault until she chose to share it on the show.
"My family, to this day, does not know," Umansky said in a confessional. "When you bring other people into it, it just becomes more of a conversation. And maybe a conversation was what I needed, but I just wasn't ready. I was not ready for that."
She later confided in her father, Mauricio Umansky, and fellow cast members. "I have something I went through that was definitely the hardest thing I ever went through," she told them. "I was taken advantage of by a friend. You guys not knowing - it's not anything I ever wanted you to know. I kinda wanted to protect you guys from [it]."
Her father responded with support, telling her, "I don't know why you would feel like you would need to protect us from that." Umansky stated that she has since healed and come a long way from the incident.
Umansky married Jake Zingerman in September of the previous year. Her parents, Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky, reunited for the wedding ceremony, having announced their separation in July 2023 after 27 years of marriage.
The current season of "Special Forces: World's Toughest Test" began late last month. Alexia Umansky is competing on the show alongside her father, Mauricio Umansky.
