New York Democratic congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has begun the process of freezing her eggs, sharing initial steps on social media.

In an interview with ABC News "This Week," Ocasio-Cortez stated that she has not "ruled out the possibility" of running for president. When asked about a potential presidential run in the 2028 elections, she responded by saying, "I haven't ruled out the possibility and I'm very humbled to the tremendous amount of support out there." She also indicated that "anything was possible" when questioned about a potential U.S. Senate bid.

Ocasio-Cortez shared videos on social media documenting her initial steps in egg freezing, including administering an injection. She also discussed practical aspects of the procedure, such as costs, clinical processes, and storage, while criticizing the U.S. healthcare system as "broken."

During her interview, Ocasio-Cortez emphasized her desire to "normalize" discussions about fertility treatments, particularly in the current political landscape. "This administration is denying reproductive care to women across the country, from abortion rights to the ability to carry out a healthy pregnancy," she said. "I think it's important for us as leaders to have these conversations and share these processes."

While Ocasio-Cortez stated her immediate focus is on the upcoming midterm elections, where all 435 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives and one-third of the 100 Senate seats are up for election in early November, she did not dismiss future political ambitions.
