Alexander Brothers Sentenced to 30 Years for Serial Rapes
Manhattan judge condemns real estate scions as 'monstrous' before handing down harsh sentences.
Manhattan federal judge Valerie Caproni sentenced Tal, Oren, and Alon Alexander to 30 years in prison each on Tuesday for a string of serial rapes. The judge described the brothers as "a lot like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" and their conduct as "monstrous" during the sentencing hearing, which was attended by many of their victims.
Caproni noted that the once-prominent real estate heirs used their status to drug and assault numerous women over more than a decade. Victim statements in court described the brothers as "sadistic, masochistic, sexual predators." The judge acknowledged that while "even rapists can change," the Alexanders' actions were beyond the pale.
The Alexander brothers faced a minimum of 15 years and a maximum of life in prison for their crimes. Eleven victims confronted the brothers in court during the day-long hearing, detailing the profound impact of the assaults on their lives. The sentencing concluded the proceedings for the high-profile case, highlighting the severe consequences for the individuals convicted of these heinous acts.
