Brothers Tal, Oren, and Alon Alexander, recently convicted in a federal sex-trafficking case, have retained the services of attorney Alan Dershowitz. His work for the family has involved examining potential executive clemency and judicial reversal options following their convictions.
The Alexander family hired Dershowitz in March 2025, and financial records indicate a payment of at least $250,000, with further fees sought. Dershowitz confirmed his representation to The Post, stating that his hourly rate had increased to $2,750, though he was charging the Alexanders his previous rate of $2,500. He noted that after the initial retainer, the family owed an additional $106,857.
Dershowitz told The New York Times that his work has been "purely on legal issues completely" and that he has not discussed pardon options with the brothers or raised their case with former President Donald Trump. He also stated in an email to The Post that he has spent "hundreds of hours" working on the brothers’ bail, appellate, and sentencing issues, emphasizing that he has not focused on executive clemency.
The jury convicted all three brothers on March 9, following a trial that lasted approximately five weeks in Manhattan federal court. They were found guilty on all charges that went to deliberation. The prosecution accused the brothers of using travel, luxury accommodations, and access to exclusive events to lure women and girls before sexually assaulting them. The government presented testimony from 11 victims, alongside travel records, communications, photographs, and videos.
Collectively, the jury considered 10 counts, resulting in 19 individual guilty findings: seven against Tal, six against Oren, and six against Alon. All three were convicted of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking. Tal was additionally convicted of multiple substantive sex trafficking and interstate travel offenses, including a count involving a 16-year-old girl. Oren was convicted on trafficking and interstate inducement charges, as well as two sexual abuse counts stemming from an assault on a cruise ship, and for sexually exploiting a 17-year-old he allegedly recorded while she was incapacitated. Alon was convicted of trafficking offenses, including the count involving the 16-year-old, an interstate-inducement charge, and two cruise ship sexual abuse counts.
The brothers are currently scheduled for sentencing on October 6. Each faces a minimum of 15 years in prison and a potential life sentence.
Dershowitz has a history of working with figures connected to the Trump administration, having helped defend Trump during his first impeachment trial and being involved in at least 12 clemency grants during Trump's presidency. The Alexander brothers also have past ties to the Trump family, having represented Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump in their purchase of a Florida mansion in 2021.
Lawyers for the brothers informed The New York Times that they were unaware of any outreach to the White House on their clients’ behalf and that their focus remained on sentencing preparation.
