The One Show host Alex Jones shared moments from her family's recent sailing trip in Greece, posting photos to Instagram that featured her husband, Charlie Thomson, and their children. The holiday took place in the Ionian Islands.
Jones, 49, and Thomson, an insurance broker, married on New Year's Eve in 2015. They are parents to three children: Teddy, nine, Kit, seven, and Annie, five. The family embarked on what Jones described as their first sailing holiday, participating in a flotilla.
Photos from the trip showed Jones and Thomson embracing on a yacht. Jones was seen in a black swimsuit with multicoloured shorts and sunglasses, while Thomson appeared shirtless in khaki shorts. Another image captured Jones in a scoop-back green swimsuit alongside her two sons. The couple were also pictured smiling on the deck in a black and white photograph.
Jones praised the skipper of their vessel as "the kindest and most capable woman." The holiday album also included numerous shots of her children enjoying time in the water.
In a previous interview with Women & Home magazine's August issue, Jones reflected on her marriage and family life. She mentioned that Thomson had considered moving back to New Zealand early in their relationship but ultimately decided to stay in the UK. Jones expressed gratitude for this decision, stating it allowed them to build their connection and raise their children in the UK.
Jones, who will turn 50 next year, also shared her perspective on starting a family later in life, having welcomed her first child at 39. She described herself as a fatalist and believes that events unfold when one is ready. She noted that while they could have had children sooner, she doesn't regret waiting, as they had achieved personal milestones like travel and homeownership beforehand. She finds joy in the current pace of family life, including the everyday routines, and appreciates the vibrancy it brings.
