Alex Cooper Welcomes First Child with Husband Matt Kaplan
The "Call Her Daddy" podcast host announced the birth of her son on Instagram.
Alex Cooper, host of the popular podcast "Call Her Daddy," has given birth to her first child with husband Matt Kaplan. Cooper shared the news of her son's arrival via an Instagram post on Tuesday, accompanied by a blue heart emoji.
The photo, which showed the infant in a fuzzy gray outfit, was shared shortly after Cooper had announced her pregnancy in May. At that time, she debuted her baby bump in a series of photos on Instagram, captioning them with "Our family 🤍."
Cooper spoke on her podcast in June about the desire to start a family, explaining that she began to feel the "itch" to become a mother as she and Kaplan traveled and accomplished personal and professional goals. She told her podcast listeners that the only thing missing was a child and that she had never felt more ready to embark on motherhood.
She recounted telling Kaplan about the pregnancy by presenting him with a positive pregnancy test and joking that it was a "non-refundable" gift. Cooper described the moment as one of shared shock, tears, and embrace.
Rumors had previously circulated regarding potential marital issues between Cooper and Kaplan, which she addressed on her podcast. Cooper stated that their closest friends and family were not concerned about the state of their marriage, referring to the speculation as an unwelcome aspect of her job.
Cooper and Kaplan met virtually in 2020 and began dating after a business dinner. Kaplan proposed in 2023, and the couple married in Mexico in April 2024. In 2025, Cooper had explained on her podcast that she prioritized their relationship, work, and herself, and felt she needed more time before tackling motherhood.
