Los Angeles Rams offensive lineman Alaric Jackson will not face criminal charges following his domestic violence arrest on June 9. Prosecutors have declined to pursue misdemeanor charges, and Jackson's pregnant girlfriend has voluntarily dismissed her temporary restraining order.

According to police reports, the dispute began when Jackson suspected his girlfriend was recording him on her phone. An alleged struggle over the device resulted in scratch marks on her arm. Jackson was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and later released on $50,000 bond.

Jackson, who signed a three-year, $57 million contract extension last year, reportedly became enraged over the alleged recording without his consent. This incident drew comparisons to a previous NFL suspension Jackson received for secretly recording a woman during a sexual encounter without her consent, a case that was settled out of court in April.

Despite the dismissal of criminal charges, the NFL is conducting an independent investigation under its Personal Conduct Policy. The league does not require a criminal conviction to impose disciplinary action, meaning Jackson could still face a suspension before the upcoming season.
