The action film "Motor City," starring Alan Ritchson, will be available for digital purchase and rental starting August 25. Directed by Potsy Ponciroli and written by Chad St. John, the movie has been in development for nearly two decades, having been on the 2009 Black List of un-produced scripts.

Ritchson plays John Miller, an ex-convict seeking revenge against the mobster who framed him and stole his girlfriend in 1970s Detroit. The cast also includes Ben Foster, Pablo Schreiber, Lionel Boyce, and Shailene Woodley. According to Foster, the film features minimal dialogue, relying primarily on action and its soundtrack.

"Motor City" can be purchased or rented digitally on platforms such as Amazon Prime, Apple TV, and Fandango At Home beginning at 12 a.m. Eastern Time on August 25. Rental prices may vary, with Amazon Prime offering the movie for $19.99 to rent and $24.99 to buy. Renters will have a 48-hour window to watch the film after starting playback.

The film is not currently available for free streaming on subscription services. However, it is anticipated that "Motor City" will eventually stream on AMC+ due to an output deal between IFC Films and the platform. While a specific release date has not been announced, based on previous IFC releases like "Over Your Dead Body," it is speculated that "Motor City" could begin streaming on AMC+ around late October 2026, approximately three months after its theatrical debut. AMC+ is available for a monthly subscription fee.
