Comedian Alan Carr was honored with a Special Recognition award at the National Television Awards, amidst a night that also saw "Our Girls: The Southport Families" win the Authored Documentary prize. The documentary chronicles the tragic story of Alice da Silva Aguiar, nine, Bebe King, six, and Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, who were murdered at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in Southport in 2024.

Speaking on the red carpet, Kelly Osbourne, daughter of Alan Carr, described the documentary about her father as a "tragic but beautiful story" and expressed her family's honor at its nomination. She mentioned speaking with her mother, Sharon Osbourne, shortly before arriving at the ceremony, highlighting their close bond.

Upon accepting the award for "Our Girls: The Southport Families," Elsie Dot Stancombe's mother, Jenni Stancombe, addressed the audience, expressing surprise at their win. "We know you didn't vote for us, you voted for our three girls," she stated, acknowledging the public's connection to the story of the young victims.

The 26th edition of the National Television Awards also saw other notable wins, including "The Celebrity Traitors" securing the Reality Competition award. The event celebrated achievements across various television categories, with a full list of winners and nominees announced.
