Alabama Football Player Kicked Off Team After Arrest for Doxing, Harassing Officer

Defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. has been dismissed from the Alabama football program following his arrest on charges of harassing communications and doxing. The charges stem from an alleged incident involving a University of Alabama police officer who had previously stopped Kirkpatrick.

Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer announced Kirkpatrick's dismissal Tuesday, stating, “After gathering more information on the situation, Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. will no longer be a part of our program. He did not live up to the standards and expectations that I have set for this team and our players.”

Kirkpatrick was arrested on Friday and released on bond. The misdemeanor charges were filed after the University of Alabama police officer, Christopher Fuerch, reported receiving a profane message from Kirkpatrick via Facebook Messenger on October 20. The message allegedly read, “Ayy bitch ass n****? Text me back don’t be no bitch!”

Officer Fuerch stated he was alarmed by the message due to a prior encounter with Kirkpatrick in November 2025. During that incident, Kirkpatrick was allegedly involved in a traffic stop where he fled from police. He was subsequently charged with reckless endangerment, speeding, and eluding police, leading to a seven-game suspension during the 2025 season.

According to court records, Fuerch also reported that after attempting to block Kirkpatrick's Facebook profile, he discovered the player had posted an image of the officer with his wife and children, captioned, “Dis him?”. The officer expressed “severe concern for the overall safety and well-being of himself and his family” due to Kirkpatrick's public profile as an Alabama football player.

Kirkpatrick Jr. is the son of former Alabama and NFL defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick Sr., who played for the Crimson Tide from 2009 to 2011 before a decade-long NFL career. Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. had recorded five tackles and one forced fumble in seven games for Alabama this season before his dismissal.
