AJ Pritchard, a former professional dancer on the UK's 'Strictly Come Dancing,' has postponed his wedding to fiancée Zara Zoffany in order to compete on 'Dancing With The Stars: The Pros.' Pritchard, 31, expressed the immense pressure and sacrifice involved in pursuing this career goal, breaking down in tears as he discussed the lengths he has gone to for the opportunity.

"I’ve sacrificed so much to be here and do this. I’ve had to move my wedding," Pritchard stated. "It’s overwhelming when I actually think about the lengths I’ve gone to. To not achieve what I’ve given up everything for would just be so disappointing."

Pritchard, who was a professional on 'Strictly' from 2016 to 2019, proposed to Zoffany, 32, in March of the previous year. The couple began dating in 2022. The competition on 'Dancing With The Stars: The Pros' has reached a critical stage, with Pritchard among the last five remaining competitors.

Fellow competitor Nina Mayster offered support as Pritchard became emotional, telling him, "It’s not going to happen. Stop it. Don’t even think like that."

Pritchard's participation has also drawn commentary from former 'Strictly' colleagues. Shirley Ballas, head judge on 'Strictly,' is a judge on the US series, alongside her son Mark Ballas, who is a professional dancer on 'Dancing With The Stars.' Former 'Strictly' pro Oti Mabuse noted Pritchard's long-standing connection with Ballas, who has been a significant dance instructor since his childhood.

Mabuse suggested that the US version of the show is considered the 'mothership' by dancers worldwide, leading to significant opportunities. However, she also raised questions about Pritchard's compatibility with an American audience and fellow contestants. "Will his personality be palatable for an American audience? That’s it, because it’s also you gotta get on with people, right?" Mabuse commented.

There have been past reports of tension between Pritchard and Mabuse during their time on 'Strictly Come Dancing,' which Mabuse's recent remarks have reportedly amplified, though this has not been previously publicized. The Daily Mail has reached out to AJ Pritchard for further comment.
