Travelers experiencing lengthy layovers at international airports now have a growing option to combat jet lag and fatigue: sleeping pods. These private capsules offer a place to rest and recharge between flights, a solution gaining attention on social media platforms.

One popular example highlighted on TikTok is found at Istanbul Airport, where a travel content creator documented his experience using the pods. He rented a semi-enclosed capsule for two hours, paying €24 (approximately $27 USD), to get some much-needed sleep during a four-hour flight delay. The pods, located at Gate D, are described as offering USB ports, power sockets, and luggage storage. A disposable blanket and pillow were provided, though the creator noted the pods could get warm and light and noise from the terminal could penetrate the semi-enclosed design.

In Australia, Perth Airport is noted as having sleeping pods called Smarte Carte, which feature flat beds, charging ports, and privacy shades. These are available in Terminal 1 International and T1/T2 Domestic near baggage claim. Pricing starts at $50 for four hours or $90 for eight hours, with longer bookings including an eye mask and earplugs.

Several other major international hubs also offer similar resting facilities. Singapore Changi Airport provides Snooze Lounge areas across its terminals. South Korea's Incheon International Airport has approximately 60 free NapZone chairs. Other airports with sleeping pod options include Abu Dhabi, Amsterdam Schiphol, Dubai, Helsinki, and Munich.
