Flights across Scotland were disrupted Tuesday due to a technical issue affecting air traffic control operations. The problem occurred at the Prestwick Centre, which manages air traffic for Scotland and the north of England. National Air Traffic Services (Nats) confirmed engineers were called to address the situation.

Nats stated that the issue was not related to a software defect that caused the cancellation of approximately 2,000 flights across the United Kingdom earlier this month. The service has implemented air traffic regulations to manage demand and ensure safety while the technical issue is investigated.

Passengers reported experiencing delays at Glasgow and Edinburgh Airports. A Nats spokesperson apologized for the inconvenience and advised passengers to check with their respective airlines for the most current flight information.
