Air Force Member Surprises Sister at Ohio School After Three Years

A member of the U.S. Air Force returned home and surprised her younger sister in her classroom after three years of service, a moment captured on video.

Jayauna Tyler, who has been serving in the military since 2019, visited her home in Canton, Ohio, earlier this week. Her sister, Miah Pierce, a sixth-grade student, was unaware of the impending visit.

The reunion took place on Monday when Jayauna entered Miah's classroom. Miah's teacher had introduced Jayauna as a guest speaker, leading to the surprise. Miah's reaction was one of disbelief, followed by an immediate embrace of her sister.

"She ain't letting go," an onlooker commented as the sisters hugged. When asked to identify Jayauna for her classmates, Miah tearfully explained, "This is my sister. She's from the Air Force." The classroom responded with applause upon learning of the sisters' long separation.

Miah's mother, Shayna Taylor, was also present for the surprise and watched the reunion tearfully. "This was a hard secret to keep. I couldn't sleep at all the night before," Taylor told the Akron Beacon Journal. "This is amazing. Everything is just amazing. I'm so glad she's here. No words can describe what it means to have her home," she added.

Miah described her sister's surprise as a "big shock," stating she had no prior knowledge of the planned reunion.
