AFL Star's Partner Dies Suddenly After Childbirth
New mother Hannah Camplin, 36, suffered a cardiac arrest just two days after welcoming her baby with Australian Rules Football player Mark Hutchings.
ICU nurse Hannah Camplin, 36, died in a Perth hospital on September 9, two days after giving birth to her and Australian Rules Football player Mark Hutchings' child. Camplin, who had enjoyed a healthy pregnancy and straightforward birth, suffered a cardiac arrest.
Hutchings, who plays for West Perth, announced his partner's death in an emotional social media tribute. He revealed that becoming a mother had been Ms Camplin's dream.
The exact cause of Ms Camplin's death remains unknown, and her family has been informed that they may have to wait up to a year for autopsy results. Ms Camplin will be farewelled at Fremantle Cemetery's West Chapel on October 8.
Hutchings' close friends, Perth business owner Jarred Briotti and his wife Meagan, who welcomed their own baby weeks before Sofia was born, have vowed to support Hutchings as he navigates parenthood without Ms Camplin.
