Former boxing world champion Adrien Broner has been sued for sexual battery, assault, and intentional infliction of emotional distress, according to a civil complaint obtained by TMZ. The lawsuit alleges that a woman named Havana Saint was pressured into unwanted sexual acts, exposed herself, and doused with ice water by Broner.
The incidents reportedly began after a June 2 after-party in California, where Saint claims Broner encouraged her to drink heavily. According to the filing, she stayed at the residence due to her inability to drive and subsequently alleges Broner attempted to force himself on her, ignoring her refusals and statements of disinterest.
A second alleged encounter occurred on June 8 at a live-stream content house in Los Angeles County. Saint claims Broner physically removed her from the venue and took her to his Encino home. The lawsuit states that after she again refused sexual advances, Broner doused her with ice water the following morning during a live stream, causing humiliation and emotional distress.
Saint also alleges that Broner and fellow live-streamer Nurideen Shabazz, known online as 'DeenTheGreat,' made defamatory statements on subsequent broadcasts, falsely claiming she had sexual relations with individuals at the content house. The lawsuit names Broner for sexual battery, assault, defamation, and emotional distress. Shabazz is named for defamation, and the streaming platform Kick is cited for negligence.
Broner, who secured world titles across four weight classes, has not yet publicly responded to the lawsuit. Previously, in September, Broner was removed from rapper Cam'ron's podcast after repeatedly flirting with a co-host despite warnings. The rapper ended the interview, stating Broner had violated the terms of their agreement. Broner, a native of Cincinnati, won the WBO Super Featherweight title at age 22 in 2011, experiencing a rapid rise in boxing before his career was impacted by arrests, losses, and mental health issues.
