Admiral Insurance to Cut 500 Jobs in UK Operations
The insurer aims to save £100 million through the redundancies, which represent about 5% of its UK workforce.
Admiral Insurance announced it will cut 500 jobs in its UK operations as part of a plan to save £100 million. The proposed redundancies will affect approximately 5% of the company's workforce in the United Kingdom.
Alistair Hargreaves, Admiral Insurance UK's chief executive, stated that the job cuts are intended to make the firm “faster and more efficient.” He also noted that the changes are aimed at enabling the company to “continue to deliver great customer outcomes.”
While Admiral utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) in its operations, the company indicated that the adoption of AI is not believed to be the cause of these planned job reductions. Instead, the redundancies are part of a broader cost-cutting effort announced earlier this year.
Admiral has committed to offering enhanced redundancy payments and exploring redeployment opportunities for affected staff members. Hargreaves added that the company is also investing in support to assist colleagues in considering their future options. The insurer is based in Cardiff.
