Adam Schefter, a prominent NFL insider for ESPN, is set to co-host NFL Network's weekly program "The Insiders" this fall. This move marks Schefter's return to the NFL Network for the first time in 17 years, as he previously worked for the network from 2004 to 2009 before joining ESPN.
Schefter's involvement with "The Insiders" is part of a broader strategy by ESPN to feature talent across both networks following ESPN's recent acquisition of the NFL Network. "The Insiders," a flagship evening program for NFL Network, was initially anchored by lead newsbreakers Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero, and Mike Garafolo. Pelissero has since departed for The Ringer and Netflix.
Sources indicate Schefter will likely co-host the program on Wednesdays during the upcoming NFL season. Other ESPN NFL reporters, including Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano, are also expected to contribute to "The Insiders" at various times.
This collaboration also extends to NFL Network personalities appearing on ESPN programming. Ian Rapoport, Stacey Dales, Cynthia Frelund, Steve Smith, Kyle Brandt, and Gerald McCoy are slated to feature on ESPN shows. Conversely, Molly McGrath and Mina Kimes will make select appearances on NFL Network, including its Sunday pregame coverage.
Both Schefter and Rapoport recently signed long-term contract extensions with ESPN. These agreements ensure their continued prominent roles on ESPN platforms, including appearances on "Get Up," "SportsCenter," and "The Pat McAfee Show," leading up to ESPN's first broadcast of the Super Bowl in February.
