Hollywood icon Adam Sandler served as the officiant for the wedding of singer Taylor Swift and NFL player Travis Kelce on Friday at Madison Square Garden. The ceremony took place at 7:30 p.m., with approximately 1,000 guests in attendance.
Signs outside the venue displayed the message "JUST&T MARRIED!" Swift's publicist, Tree Paine, confirmed that the vows had been exchanged. Austin Swift, the bride's brother, acted as Man of Honor, while Travis Kelce's brother, NFL star Jason Kelce, served as Best Man.
Sandler, described as a "friend" of the newlyweds, has known Swift since at least 2023, when he attended the premiere of her Eras Tour concert movie with his daughters, Sadie and Sunny. He later met Swift in person at the event. More recently, Kelce had a cameo in Sandler's film "Happy Gilmore 2," the sequel to the 1996 comedy "Happy Gilmore." Sandler described Kelce as "a great actor and a great human."
Sandler has expressed his admiration for Swift's music, noting that his daughters are deeply familiar with her songs and that he himself knows them well. He has praised her albums, comparing her to The Beatles in an interview on Conan O'Brien's podcast "Team Coco."
In "Happy Gilmore 2," Kelce portrayed a high-strung maître d'. During the movie's promotion, Sandler told Entertainment Tonight that his daughters had met Swift multiple times over the years and that Swift had "always been so damn nice to my family." He also commented on Kelce, saying, "Travis is such a gentle, nice guy and funny as hell, and he's like the guys I grew up with... He certain is a stud. He's a great actor and a great human."
Kelce had previously shared his own fan sentiment towards Sandler in 2024 on his podcast "New Heights," which he co-hosts with his brother. He stated, "Anything to just get around Happy Gilmore or an Adam Sandler film or set. Count me in. Obviously been a huge fan of the Sandman."
Sandler is married to actress Jackie Titone, and they have two daughters. Titone has appeared in over 20 of Sandler's films, including "Happy Gilmore 2."
