Adam Rickitt, 48, the former star of "Coronation Street" and "Hollyoaks," demonstrated his enduring "soap heartthrob" status while performing at Manchester Pride on Sunday. The actor and singer took to the stage to perform his 1999 hit song "I Breathe Again," captivating the audience. During his performance, Rickitt removed his vest top, revealing his abdominal muscles and tattooed torso.
Rickitt, who played Nick Tilsley on "Coronation Street" from 1997 to 1999 and again from 2002 to 2004, also starred in the New Zealand soap "Shortland Street" and "Hollyoaks." After a career in television and music, he transitioned to running a pub in Knutsford, Cheshire, though he continues to make occasional public appearances.
Earlier this year, Rickitt was granted an indefinite restraining order against Ron Kleihues, 52, who had made threats and engaged in a year-long harassment campaign. Kleihues had reportedly fantasized about raping a child and made threats against Rickitt, his wife, and pub staff. One incident involved Kleihues arriving uninvited at Rickitt's pub and being physically restrained by Rickitt. The harassment campaign caused Rickitt significant stress, leading him to seek anti-anxiety medication and experience nightly convulsions. He expressed fear for the safety of his family and staff, stating his primary concern was that a child might be harmed if Kleihues was not stopped. At Crewe Magistrates' Court, Kleihues received a 12-month community order, a fine, and was ordered to pay costs and surcharges, in addition to the restraining order prohibiting contact with Rickitt, his wife, and three other individuals.
