Adam Peaty's mother, Caroline Peaty, has broken her silence regarding the family feud that has emerged alongside the swimmer's recent performances. Caroline stated that she and her husband, Mark, will "always continue to support Adam from afar," despite the ongoing rift.

In a social media post, Caroline wrote that their love, time, and sacrifices were given freely with no expectation of reward, reflecting on their support for their son's aspirations. She also revealed that she and her family have been subjected to abuse from online trolls.

"There are many trolls on social media and making comments about us, which are truly evil and very untrue," Caroline stated. "The very nature of our strength as a family has helped us move past the nastiness, the lies that have been told about us. We have nothing to prove, we just want to be left alone."

Her remarks come after Adam Peaty alluded to the family feud impacting his performance at the Commonwealth Games. Following his third-place finish in the 100m breaststroke, Peaty stated that the "s***" he had been through this year had taken its toll and contributed to a tired display.

"It's hard because I know how hard I've worked," he said in a post-swim interview. "I know the s**t I've been through, which is no fault of my own. It does take a toll."

These Games mark the first time Adam's parents have not been present at poolside to support him in person. A family source, speaking anonymously, suggested that Adam was engaging in a "blame game" and needed to "take accountability for your own actions for once." The source further alleged that Adam had caused significant hurt to his mother and had previously banned her from seeing her grandson.

Caroline mentioned in her statement that she had contemplated suicide at her lowest point when Adam had banned her from his life. She expressed a desire to "move on with our life and enjoy growing our family," noting that two of her daughters are also expecting children.

Adam, competing under the name Ramsay-Peaty, later posted on Instagram reflecting on his performance. He described his bronze medal as a "bittersweet moment" and acknowledged that his story "can't always be filled with glory, victory and gold." He also addressed those who wish to "hurt me and my family with comments," urging them to "be the change you want to see in the world."

The roots of the conflict reportedly trace back to 2024 when Adam and his wife, Holly, did not invite extended family members to their engagement party and wedding. Caroline also stated she was not invited to Holly's hen party.
