Adam Peaty shared a celebratory moment with his pregnant wife, Holly Ramsay, kissing her baby bump after securing a silver medal in the 4x100m medley relay at the Commonwealth Games on Wednesday.

Ramsay, an influencer, watched from the stands as the three-time Olympic champion and his teammates Oliver Morgan, Edward Mildred, and Jacob Mills finished second in the race held at the Tollcross International Swimming Centre in Glasgow.

Peaty, who is expecting his first child, a daughter, with Ramsay in December, has spoken about the emotional toll the family rift has taken on his performance. He admitted to feeling "off" during the week and struggling to regain his previous speed.

"The harder you try the slower you go. The last two years have been tough to get the speed back," Peaty said after a race earlier in the week where he finished third in the 50m breaststroke, earning a bronze medal. He added, "I've felt 'off' this week and I don't know why. We are trying new things."

The swimmer's mother, Caroline Peaty, had previously stated that she and her husband would "always support him from afar" amidst their public fallout. This marks the first major competition where his parents have not been present at the poolside to support him.

Caroline Peaty has described online abuse directed at her family as "vile" and "truly evil," asserting that they are strong and love each other. She expressed a desire to be left alone to move on with their lives and enjoy their growing family, noting that her daughter Bethany is also expecting a baby in January.

The family conflict reportedly stems from events in 2024, including Peaty and Ramsay not inviting wider family members to their engagement party and wedding. Caroline Peaty was also reportedly not invited to Ramsay's hen do.

In an interview following his bronze medal win, Peaty acknowledged the family feud, stating that the fallout "has taken its toll." He added, "It's hard because I know how hard I've worked. I know the s**t I've been through, which is no fault of my own. It does take a toll."

His mother, Caroline, responded indirectly to his comments, stating on Facebook that she and her husband gave their love, time, and sacrifices freely to their son with no expectation of financial reward. She also revealed that she had contemplated suicide after Adam banned her from his life.

Despite the personal challenges, Peaty is focusing on enjoying his training and accepting the ups and downs of his career. He noted that he has "lost my way, lost my purpose" at times and is learning from his experiences.

Peaty's mother has expressed concern that "something or someone at play wanting to destroy our family completely" but remains defiant, posting, "We are strong, we love and we are always there for each other."
