Professional wrestler Adam Copeland is set to compete at the iconic Arena México for the first time in his career on Wednesday night as part of All Elite Wrestling's (AEW) Grand Slam: Mexico event. Copeland will participate in an eight-man tag team match, aligning with tag team partner Christian Cage, Matt Jackson, and Nick Jackson against Jon Moxley, Daniel Garcia, Pac, and Wheeler Yuta.
Copeland shared his anticipation for the match on Instagram, referring to Arena México as "The Wrestling Cathedral." He noted that his last match in Mexico was in 2008 and expressed enthusiasm for returning to a country whose wrestling culture he deeply admires. "I love Lucha Libre. Everything about it. The masks, the mystique, the pageantry," Copeland wrote. "Can’t wait to get out there. See ya soon Mexico, bring your voices."
Arena México was reportedly on a list of venues Copeland had long desired to perform in, alongside other notable locations such as Wembley Stadium in London, Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto, and the Tokyo Dome in Japan. Copeland is expected to compete at Wembley Stadium later this month when AEW presents its All In event.
Copeland and Cage are the current AEW World Tag Team Champions, having won the titles at the Double or Nothing event in May 2026 in an "I Quit" match against FTR. They are slated to defend their championships at the All In event.
