Actor Sam Neill, who passed away at age 78, left behind an estate estimated to be between $25 million and $28 million. His assets include a significant property portfolio and a winery empire.

Neill's primary residence was the Two Paddocks winery in New Zealand's Central Otago region. He established the winery in 1993, and it gained recognition for its Pinot Noir and high-quality Riesling. What began as a five-acre planting eventually expanded to four vineyard sites.

While Neill's acting career, which spanned over 100 film and TV productions, supported the winery's growth, he often spoke of the personal satisfaction derived from the vineyard. "I would not do it if it was not so satisfying and fun - and it gets me p*ssed once in a while," he said in 2008.

Beyond his winery, Neill owned Redbank Farm, known for its menagerie of animals playfully named after Hollywood stars. He also held a home in Wellington, New Zealand.

In 2020, Neill sold his mansion in Double Bay, Sydney, for approximately $3.6 million. He had purchased the four-bedroom home in 1996 with his then-wife Noriko Watanabe. The property featured an open-plan living and dining area, an outdoor terrace, and an expansive backyard.

Neill died suddenly and unexpectedly on Monday in Sydney, Australia. His family confirmed his passing in a statement, noting he was cancer-free at the time of his death, having previously undergone treatment for a type of lymphoma. He had shared in April that tests indicated he was in remission following a costly CAR T-cell therapy treatment.
