Actor Robert Kelker-Kelly Found in Cardiac Arrest, Dies at 62
Emergency dispatch audio reveals first responders attempted CPR before pronouncing the Days of Our Lives star deceased at his home.
Robert Kelker-Kelly, known for his role as Bo Brady on the soap opera "Days of Our Lives," was found in bed after experiencing cardiac arrest, according to emergency dispatch audio from the 911 call. First responders attempted CPR, but the 62-year-old actor was pronounced dead at the scene.
The St. Charles County Ambulance District confirmed that emergency personnel were dispatched to a call for an adult male patient in cardiac arrest. The St. Peters Police Department stated that officers responded to the actor's home on October 3 around 8:16 p.m. for a report of an unconscious man who was not breathing. Police noted there was nothing suspicious at the scene, and circumstances appeared consistent with a medical event.
The cause of death is currently unknown, according to the Missouri medical examiner.
Kelker-Kelly is best remembered for his portrayal of Bo Brady on "Days of Our Lives" from 1992 to 1995, temporarily taking over the role from Peter Reckell. During this period, his character was involved in storylines with Billie Reed, played by Lisa Rinna.
Rinna, in her February memoir "You Better Believe I'm Gonna Talk About It," described her working relationship with Kelker-Kelly as difficult, writing that he made her life "a living hell" on set and calling him "verbally abusive."
Kelker-Kelly also held roles in other soap operas, including Stavros Cassidine in the "General Hospital" spin-off "Port Charles" and later on "General Hospital" itself from 2001 to 2014. He appeared in over 431 episodes of "Another World" between 1987 and 1998, playing multiple characters. His other television credits include "Jack's Place," "Touched by an Angel," and "Rescue 77."
Beyond acting, Kelker-Kelly was a licensed aircraft pilot, working in that field from 2003 to 2015. He was married twice and divorced both times.
