Actor Brandon Rogers Confronts Heckler at New York Comic Con
The 'Helluva Boss' voice actor urged an audience member to stop interrupting the panel, leading to an apology from event organizers.
Tensions flared at New York Comic Con on Thursday when actor Brandon Rogers, a voice actor on the animated series "Helluva Boss," confronted a persistent heckler during the show's panel. The unidentified attendee repeatedly interrupted the proceedings at the Javits Center, prompting Rogers to issue a stern warning.
As the panel's creator, Vivienne Medrano, was speaking, the heckler shouted for the sixth time, leading Rogers to stand and address the individual directly. "You need to shut the f–k up right now. I swear to God I’m going to jump over this fence and end you. It’s not cute," Rogers said, adding, "This is f—ing Comic-Con, guys. I’m sorry."
Rogers later approached event staff, questioning the lack of security intervention. "Is anyone working at this f—ing event? Can someone please get this motherf—er the hell out of here? I swear to God," he stated. A fan attending the panel reported that the disruptive individual was eventually escorted out.
ReedPop, the organizer of New York Comic Con, issued an apology for the incident. A spokesperson acknowledged the repeated disturbance and stated that while the situation was addressed after the panel, action was not taken swiftly enough. "We apologize to the panelists, moderator, and fans in attendance for the disruption," the spokesperson said. "We are taking steps to ensure any future incidents are addressed in a swifter manner."
"Helluva Boss" is an adult animated series that follows a group of demons operating a hitman service in Hell. The panel included voice actors Rogers, Vivian Nixon, Harvey Guillén, Erica Lindbeck, Bryce Pinkham, and Richard Steven Horvitz, with Perri Nemiroff moderating. The series has featured guest stars such as Norman Reedus, Kesha, and Jinkx Monsoon.
