Accused Killer Sent 'Intense' Sex Texts About Victim to Police Friend
Beau Lamarre-Condon shared intimate details of his relationship with Jesse Baird with Senior Constable Nicole Harvell in the months before the alleged murders.
Accused killer Beau Lamarre-Condon shared intimate details about his relationship with Jesse Baird, including messages about their "intense" sexual encounters, with a police colleague, the NSW Supreme Court has heard.
Lamarre-Condon, 31, texted Senior Constable Nicole Harvell in April 2023, stating, "Our intimacy and sex is getting more and more intense," according to messages presented to the court. These exchanges occurred a few months after his on-off relationship with Baird began and less than a year before Baird and his new boyfriend, Luke Davies, were allegedly murdered.
Lamarre-Condon and Ms. Harvell became friends after working together in March 2023. Throughout their year-long friendship, Lamarre-Condon frequently discussed his relationship with Baird with Ms. Harvell, the court was told.
On April 5, 2023, Lamarre-Condon sent Ms. Harvell screenshots from a conversation with Baird ahead of a planned dinner date. He later described the evening to Ms. Harvell, saying, "Last night was cute. He made me dinner and we just chilled out. Our intimacy and sex is getting more and more intense and he keeps going on about it." He also mentioned plans for a football game and go-karting, and spending Easter together.
Ms. Harvell responded, expressing confusion about why Baird would not commit to Lamarre-Condon. "And you're spending so much time together it's almost like you are a couple!" she wrote.
Eight days later, on April 14, Lamarre-Condon texted Ms. Harvell alleging he had discovered messages on Baird's phone indicating infidelity. He expressed uncertainty about his relationship, texting, "Argh [I don't know] if I'm being stupid or not or I'm wasting my time." Ms. Harvell replied that her opinion of Baird had changed after seeing the messages, stating, "He's definitely playing you both and he's doing a really f***ing good job of it."
The court heard that Lamarre-Condon's relationship with Baird ended in November 2023, seven months after these texts were exchanged. Lamarre-Condon reportedly desired an exclusive relationship, which Baird did not reciprocate.
On February 19, 2024, Lamarre-Condon allegedly used his police-issued firearm to kill Baird and Davies at Baird's Paddington home. Their bodies were reportedly stuffed into surfboard bags and dumped at a rural property in Bungonia, approximately 200 kilometers south of Sydney. Police discovered the remains eight days later.
Lamarre-Condon has pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder and one count of aggravated breaking and entering. His murder trial began on September 21 and is scheduled to conclude in December. The court proceedings were briefly adjourned due to a sick juror.
