Accused Killer Questioned Friend About Surfboard Bag Fit
Beau Lamarre-Condon allegedly asked a friend to help determine if a surfboard bag could fit a dead body.
Accused killer Beau Lamarre-Condon measured a surfboard bag against a friend, telling him, "you're about the same size as my surfboard," but allegedly as a way to ascertain if the bag could conceal a dead body. The friend, whose identity is protected for legal reasons, testified in the NSW Supreme Court that Lamarre-Condon, then a police officer, stopped at a sports superstore in Miranda, Sydney, on February 16, 2024. Lamarre-Condon stated he needed to retrieve surfboards from his ex-boyfriend Jesse Baird's home.
During the shopping trip, Lamarre-Condon asked his friend if he was the same size as his surfboard and proceeded to measure the bag against him. The friend expressed surprise, as they had recently spent New Year's together and Lamarre-Condon had not engaged in surfing activities with him. Lamarre-Condon reportedly claimed he did surf but had not joined him. Ultimately, he purchased an $85 surfboard bag.
Lamarre-Condon is charged with murdering Jesse Baird and Baird's new boyfriend, Luke Davies, and allegedly stuffing their bodies into two surfboard bags before disposing of them on a rural property. He has pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder and one count of break and enter, with the charges related to domestic violence. The trial is ongoing.
