Accused killer Tyler Robinson spent weeks plotting the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, including engraving messages onto bullets, according to testimony from his former roommate and lover. Lance Twiggs, who previously lived with Robinson, provided a pre-recorded deposition that was shown in court on the fourth day of hearings in the case.

Twiggs told investigators that about a month before the shooting, Robinson inquired about obtaining a Dremel engraver tool. Robinson stated he wanted to "create messages on bullets," according to Twiggs.

Prosecutors presented evidence of engravings found on ammunition recovered near the rifle allegedly used in the assassination. One bullet casing recovered bore the inscription, "Notices Bulge." Other rounds were labeled "Hey fascist," "Catch," "O bella ciao," and "ciao ciao."

In text messages also presented in court, Robinson allegedly admitted to Twiggs that he had been planning to kill Kirk at a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025, for over a week. In one message, Robinson wrote, "If I am able to grab my rifle unseen, I will have left no evidence… going to attempt to retrieve it again, hopefully they have moved on." Twiggs responded by asking how long Robinson had been planning, to which Robinson replied, "A bit over a week I believe."

Robinson is accused of fatally shooting Kirk, a co-founder of Turning Point USA. The preliminary hearing is ongoing.
