Margaret Loftus, a former member of the Garda Síochána, has spoken out against the family law courts, describing how the system allowed her abuser, her ex-husband Trevor Bolger, to continue exercising control over her life. Her remarks came as Women's Aid reported a 33% increase in domestic abuse disclosures in 2025, the highest on record.
Loftus stated that each time she entered the family law courts, her children were
