Abdul El-Sayed, who recently won the Michigan Democratic primary nomination for U.S. Senate, has identified Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as the Trump administration official he most wants to question. El-Sayed, a medical doctor, expressed his eagerness to scrutinize Kennedy, whom he referred to as "Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.," during an interview on CNN.

"Dude uses big words he does not understand, and I happen to go to medical school, so I kind of understand them," El-Sayed said on "The Source" with Kaitlan Collins. "It is going to be a good time holding him accountable for all of the grift that he has pushed on the American public."

El-Sayed, who holds a medical degree and a doctorate in public health from Oxford University, highlighted his background in epidemiology and his previous role as executive director of the Detroit Health Department. He contrasted his credentials with Kennedy's, whom he described as "a guy who takes his kids swimming in s**t’s creek." This remark references an instance where Kennedy posted on social media about swimming with his grandchildren in Rock Creek, a Washington D.C. waterway known to contain sewage.

The Michigan native's political career began with a gubernatorial campaign in 2017, inspired by the Flint water crisis. Although he lost that race to Gretchen Whitmer, he recently defeated establishment-backed Haley Stevens for the Senate nomination.

El-Sayed has also been vocal in his criticism of Israel's actions in Gaza. He acknowledged a conversation with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, who had endorsed his primary opponent, regarding the path to victory in Michigan and the broader goal of regaining the Senate majority for Democrats.

"I think we had a good, meaningful, heart-to-heart conversation about what it takes to win in a state like Michigan," El-Sayed stated. "So I’m looking forward to partnering alongside him to win the Senate majority, to win back — to keep — the state of Michigan, and to win back the gavel for Democrats so that we can start holding Donald Trump accountable."
