ABC Renews 'High Potential' for Third Season, Midseason Premiere Expected in Early 2027
The drama starring Kaitlin Olson will feature new showrunners for its upcoming season.
The ABC crime drama 'High Potential,' starring Kaitlin Olson, has been renewed for a third season. While the network has not yet announced an official release date, the show is slated for a midseason premiere in early 2027, with a January debut being the most likely.
This upcoming season will see a change in leadership behind the scenes. Nora and Lilla Zuckerman, known for their work on 'Poker Face,' will take over as co-showrunners and executive producers, succeeding Todd Harthan, who helmed the second season. The Zuckermans expressed their enthusiasm for the new chapter, stating in a joint release, "We are so grateful to be working with Craig, Karey, Simran and our partners at 20th and ABC on this exciting new chapter of 'High Potential.' The fact we get to collaborate with Drew, Sarah, and Andrea at Goddard Textiles and the incomparable Kaitlin Olson is a dream come true. We’re looking forward to climbing into the brilliant, bustling mind of Morgan Gillory and crafting intricate mysteries worthy of her genius."
'High Potential' will likely anchor Tuesday nights on ABC, sharing the evening with 'Will Trent,' another series also being held for a midseason return. This programming strategy positions both shows as key components of ABC's schedule in the early part of the year, following the conclusion of their fall lineup. In contrast, 'The Rookie' and its new spinoff, 'The Rookie: North,' are set to premiere on Mondays.
Fans can catch up on previous seasons of 'High Potential' as all episodes are currently available for streaming on Hulu and Disney+. Additionally, episodes from the second season are accessible on ABC.com.
Disney+ offers various subscription tiers, including options with ads for $11.99 per month and ad-free plans for $18.99 per month or $189.99 annually. These bundles start at $11.99 per month for a Disney+ and Hulu subscription with ads and range up to $32.99 per month for ad-free access to Disney+, Hulu, and Max.
